Waving good bye to the ocean for the last time on this trip Chris and I headed across the border in to the jungle of northern Guatemala. As soon as we crossed the boarder I felt straight away that we had changed in to a far poorer country than the parts of Central America I have visited so far. The main road from the border was no more than a dirt tracks full of pop holes that rattled my bones every time we hit one. The other thing worth noting about my first view of Guatemala was obscene numbers of children carrying machetes. Like Mongolia with there knifes, children here...
